HERE I AM!
I am a passionate, loving person who thrives in artistic atmospheres. That's why I chose a career where I can connect with like minded people that share a passion for art in the form of hair, makeup, fashion, and film. I have deep roots in the field of cosmetology. In fact, I have been doing hair for more than half of my life!
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
This year I saw my name on the big screen for the first time, worked on a few fashion shoots, and was able to do hair and makeup for some beautiful brides! I home school my boys and volunteer as a den leader for the Boy Scouts. I know the last two are not about hair, makeup, or fashion, but they say something about who I am. Patience is required for both and choosing to spend my time giving back is something that has filled me with JOY!
MY EDUCATION:
I started working as a shampoo assistant at 15. I loved meeting new clients and learning about everything. When I was 16 I started working with a great team of hairdressers. I studied with REDKEN and AVEDA educators and spent much of my time gaining brand knowledge and technique. I carried an apprentice license while studying, working the floor, and building a clientele.
I was given an opportunity to work at a wonderful salon that was awarded the title of second best in the nation by Cosmo magazine. I thought it best to make the move and in doing so, I gained a L'OREAL PROFESSIONAL background that has proved it's value time and time again. Making the decision to go to school for Cosmetology was a game changer for me as I had to move across town and change jobs.
I graduated from Roffler Moler Hairstyling College with a degree in Cosmetology eight years ago. I studied under the instruction of a Pivot Point master stylist. Pivot Point (a precision cutting method) was a great way to expand my skills so that I could create a custom cut and style that is ON POINT...PERFECTION! I found that studying color from a TI GI Master stylist was a great way to learn advanced color formulation and correction. I am glad I decided to attend Roffler. It helped to round out my education and advance my career.
Upon graduating I accepted a position at Marietta salon. I helped to open and grow a salon that is now well known in the Merchant's walk area. I loved the vision that came to life in front of me. Being apart of someone's dream and helping them to make it a reality was an amazing feeling. Bringing in new talent and training a team of people that worked well together had so many hidden rewards. Friendship and a growing educational fluidity brought forth a bigger dream. I longed to work in film and fashion, to have new experiences that would bring me closer to my goals.
In 2007 I made the leap that lead me to where I am today. I started working for myself so I could work and be a mostly stay at home mom. I love being able to take fieldtrips with my family and homeschool. I am constantly learning and very passionate about hair styling, makeup artistry, color and
